Panduit cable ties for harsh environments

When selecting a cable tie for use in harsh environments there are many factors to consider. Apart from the size and colour it is important to assess their ability to withstand the particular conditions that they are likely to be exposed to such as; extremes of temperature, exposure to chemicals and radiation and the damaging effects of weathering. Their use in food and pharmaceutical manufacturing establishments and in mass transit vehicles and public spaces also demand particular solutions.

For most applications a standard Nylon 6/6 cable tie will be perfectly suited to the task. Panduit’s standard Nylon 6/6 cable ties will withstand temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and will last for 1 - 2 years when used outdoors. They have good resistance to fuels and lubricants but poor resistance to most acids and all oxidising chemicals. If you need cable ties to exceed these parameters Panduit will have a solution.

Panduit offer the widest possible range of cable ties that cover temperatures from -80°C to +538°C and are resistant to chemicals, radiation and weathering. To achieve these results Panduit offer cable ties in weather resistant, heat stabilised, flame retardant and metal detectable versions of Nylon 6/6 and in more specialised materials such as; PEEK, Halar, Tefzel and stainless steel.
